Let's tackle the tough conversations. Together.
Now we're talking:
How we view our place in the world is shaped by the conversations we have. Yet, sometimes the most important talks are the toughest ones to begin.
Why start talking now? Because you are surrounded by predominantly white friends and white schools and this leads to limited understanding of race and racism for white adults and children. You want to get smarter, healthier, better in order to reflect on the impact of bias and racism.
"Others fight for freedom with legislation, with doctrine, or with military might. We do so with lessons and shared texts and questions and guided practice and love."
- Cornelius Minor, author & educator
The Now We're Talking Approach:
Once you or a representative from your school or organization complete this survey, we can begin tailoring a path that best meets your needs. Some people may be further ahead on their racial equity journey and some may need help just getting out of the gate. My approach involves goal-setting, reflection, facilitated conversation, and use of text (Pre-K through Adult). Our time together will be engaging, open and intended to provide you with the tools and concepts with which you can continue the conversations with your family, your friends and/or your coworkers.
30% of ALL incoming money will be donated to an organization chosen in collaboration with participants. (Examples: Center for Antiracist Research, Southern Poverty Law Center, Equal Justice Institute, Northside Achievement Zone)
We also offer monthly adult book club memberships and bi-monthly Book Club Memberships for children ages 4-12. Check the 'Start your Journey' tab for details.

"The body of research about children and race demonstrates that white children develop a sense of white superiority as early as preschool."

-Robin Diangelo, author of White Fragility

"Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home - so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any map of the world."
